Camp n' Jam

The first annual 2007 Blue Moon "Fiddlin' Around The Stars" Bluegrass Camp n' Jam was a stellar event.  With more than 100 camp n' jammers, Goldendale's Ekone was filled with music in the air.  NASA Astronaut Stephen Robinson came to help us celebrate the "Blue Moon" while bluegrass bands serenaded the audiences at the Goldendale Observatory.

Our Camp n' Jam will begin on Tuesday, May 27th through Sunday June 1st. The Tear Drop Trailers, Tin Can Tourists and Vintage RVer's have been invited to join us for this awesome event!  On Saturday, May 31st, the Goldendale Motorsport Association will host their 5th Annual Truck and Tractor Pull at the Klickitat County Fairgrounds.

Come early...stay late and take time to enjoy the Goldendale Observatory, Presby Mansion, Goldendale Golf Course and the White Horse Vale Lipizzans...one of the largest Lippizzan horse ranches in the world.  Outside of Goldendale we have Stonehenge, Maryhill Museum, Maryhill Winery and many other wineries along the way.  Stop in at Horse Thief State Park and take a short hike in to see the historical petroglyphs.

Come back to Goldendale via the wild and scenic Klickitat River and through the community of Klickitat, or come back through the community of Lyle.  You'll climb the beautiful Lyle grade and see historic barns, old homesteads, and the gentle rolling hills of High Prairie and the beautiful Centerville Valley...all with Mt. Adams in the background.  If you choose, you can come back to Goldendale by traveling to Bingen, White Salmon, BZ Corners, Trout Lake, up through Glenwood and back home.  Seems like all roads lead back to Goldendale!

To the east of Goldendale, take a tour of the magnificent Goodnoe Hills Wind Power Project, meander to Roosevelt and tour the Roosevelt Landfill Project...which is extremely interesting.  Follow the highway and stop in Bickleton for lunch and a cold drink at the Bluebird Inn...which is home the first licensed tavern in Washington.  Bickleton is also the Bluebird Capital of the world.  While in Bickleton, take a few minutes and escape into the historic Bickleton Carousel Museum and ride the 100 year old Carousel.  Enjoy your ride down the Rock Creek Canyon.  Through your travels you'll see historic barns, old homesteads and gentle rolling hills of beautiful Goodnoe Hills and Pleasant Valley.

There is so much to see and do around Goldendale!  Life is good...very, very good!  We are truly blessed!  Come...stay and play in Goldendale!
